Virginia Association of School Superintendents Partners with TalentEd Perform

11.6.2012

Affordable cloud-based K-12 evaluation software allows Virginia’s school divisions to efficiently manage the state’s new requirements

PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. — In response to new state teacher evaluation requirements that went into effect in July, the Virginia Association of School Superintendents (VASS) has partnered with K-12 cloud software developer Netchemia to offer its TalentEd Perform to help Virginia’s school divisions manage their new evaluation standards.

VASS endorsed TalentEd Perform – an affordable, Web-based system – because division superintendents and site administrators are seeking automated and efficient ways to manage the additional requirements, which include evaluating teachers using seven performance standards and incorporating student growth data, according to a letter sent to VASS members by Executive Director Steven Staples.

Seventeen Virginia divisions of all sizes – from fewer than 1,500 students to more than 70,000 – have already adopted TalentEd Perform to automate their performance evaluations.

“When we started looking for an electronic teacher evaluation system to meet new state standards, TalentEd stood out above the rest,” said Debby Brickey, Technology Coordinator for Scott County Public Schools.

Divisions using TalentEd Perform are able to:

• Use their own evaluation framework configured to their specific forms and processes.

• Manage and automate all teacher, administrator and classified employee evaluations with one system.

• Access the Professional Development recommendation manager.

• Incorporate student growth data.

• Integrate with their current human resource management systems (HRMS), eliminating redundant tasks.

• Access easy-to-use reporting tools and analytics on demand.

• Use tablets, such as iPad, and mobile devices to complete evaluation steps, even on the spot.

TalentEd Perform streamlines the evaluation process for everyone – superintendents, principals, administrators and teachers.

“TalentEd has given us the ease of managing our teacher evaluation system online,” Virginia Beach City Public Schools fifth grade teacher Lynn Bullock said. “This user-friendly program with helpful reminders makes training our school staff, and keeping them on schedule, a snap.”

TalentEd Perform users in Virginia include Virginia Beach City, Roanoke City, Williamsburg-James City County, Washington County, Shenandoah County, Wise County, Smyth County, Wythe County, Russell County, Scott County, Winchester, Lee County, Greensville County, Alleghany County, Poquoson City, Nelson County and Cumberland County.
